Mayor Hudnut attends a ribbon-cutting and plaque dedication ceremony at the Richard I. Blankenbaker Quadrant Headquarters. Blankenbaker (1930-1988) served as head of the Department of Public Safety during part of Hudnut's administration. His wife Virginia Blakenbaker served in the Indiana State Senate from 1981 to 1996.
