Statement of Richard G. Lugar in Response to Bayh Debate Proposal, July 19, 1974

Mayor Lugar accepts Senator Bayh's invitation to debate him on "Issues and Answers," but asks that they arrange a series of debates at three week intervals in several town across Indiana rather than engage in a single debate. Mayor Lugar also asks for rebroadcast rights for the televised debates.
