Summary of Litigation that Followed the Move of the Colts Franchise from Baltimore to Indianapolis

Notes on the legal battle that ensued after Colts' owners moved the team from Baltimore to Indianapolis. Litigants included the City of Baltimore, Robert Irsay, the Colts, the NFL, Mayflower, Mayor Hudnut, Mayor Schaefer of Baltimore, and the Capital Improvemet Board of Marion County, Indiana. Litigation ultimately reached the U.S. Supreme Court, before being settled in March 1986, with an agreement between the city of Baltimore and the Colts. Handwritten notes may be from Mayor Hudnut.
