Detail of Plaque Recognizing the USS Indianapolis, Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine

Plaque recognizes the USS Indianapolis, SSN 697, Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine, whose keel was laid on October 19, 1974. The plaque was presented in a ceremony held November 7, 1975 in conjunction with the bicentennial of the U.S. Navy and on the occasion of the visit of Admiral Hyman G. Rickover to the Naval Avionics Facility in Indianapolis.
